But I have had a really sturdy Samsonite umbrella for about 12 years now that has served me quite well. Yes, it is the "grandma" style with the curved handle and doesn't go all compact down on itself. But I love it like that. I love the sound it makes when the umbrella pops open.

I'd recommend a Samsonite. They do have cute ones that compact down to a small size, like here: http://www.luggage.com/Samsonite-Umbrellas-C32226.htmlChiadahttp://colorfulllife.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2340495888362574426.post-36167203185497182932008-05-01T00:35:03.000+10:002008-05-01T00:35:03.000+10:00Umbrellas are quickly sacrificed, but it is worth ...Umbrellas are quickly sacrificed, but it is worth it to get a bigger one. Raincoats and boots help too. I like to use the long, old school kind. They're a pain to carry around (I carry a smaller, wimpier one the rest of the time), but on a torrential downpour day, it's a god send!Laurelhttp://sassattack.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2340495888362574426.post-26075122629360208972008-04-30T23:54:21.000+10:002008-04-30T23:54:21.000+10:00Umbrellas are a big waste of money. I just lose them. Maybe I need a buzzer on mine.. A buzzer..now that's a good idea.
